Urban Farmgirl Gardens Policies

First, and most importantly, thank you for considering our micro flower farm for your purchases!  All of the products offered for sale have been grown by us.  We understand you probably haven’t heard of us online before as our online presence has just begun!  We are making the transition from a hobby garden to a micro flower farm growing blooms for market and providing dahlia tubers to hobbists.  We have over 10 years of experience growing plants and designing gardens while earning several horticulture degrees.  We take great pride in the quality of our products and want you to feel confident ordering from us.  Our shop currently has seeds and tubers for sale.

Seeds

  • All seeds have been harvested from our garden.  The weights of the seed packets are more generous than the packets found at retailers.  Likewise, the seed varieties offered are less common and harder to find.

  • To keep things simple, veggie seed packets are $4 and flower seed packets are $5.

  • A flat fee shipping charge of $5 will be added to your order at checkout for seed orders.  Shipping is available now.

Dahlia Tuber Sales (January-April)

  • Satisfaction Guarantee

    • All dahlia tubers will be true to ID, have atleast one viable eye, and have a healthy tuber body.  We grew the dahlias, harvested the tubers last fall, and store them in a climate controlled space as recommended by the American Dahlia Society.

    • Please open and inspect your tubers immediately and make arrangements for their proper storage until it is time to plant outside in your area.

    • If you have a concern about your tubers upon their arrival, please email us at urbanfarmgirlgardens@gmail.com within two days of delivery so we can address them.  Please include your order number and photos of all the tubers in the order in your email message.

    • We do not control issues that may arise after the dahlia tubers leave our farm.  We cannot be held responsible for issues caused by your storage, weather and planting conditions, pests, or neglect.

  • Ordering Dahlia Tubers

    • Adding items to your shopping cart does not place a hold on it.  If another customer completes their transaction sooner, your chosen variety will disappear from your shopping cart if it is the last one available for sale.

    • You will receive a confirmation email of your order after completing the checkout process.

  • Shipping

    • We currently ship to the continental United States, excluding Hawaii.

    • Your tubers will be carefully packed and will be mailed via USPS priority mail.

    • To keep things simple, and to encourage you to order more than a couple tubers, a flat $15 shipping fee will be applied to your order at checkout.

    • Our microfarm is located in the Pacific Northwest, USDA zone 8b.   We will begin shipping, dependent on weather conditions, on March 30, 2026.

    • We are not able to combine shipping orders.  Please take advantage of the $15 flat rate for shipping to get the best value.

    • Local pickup is not available due to our city location and parking issues.

  • Shipping Issues

    • You will receive an email with tracking information once your order ships. We have no control over how long the package stays in the USPS shipping process. We will not refund or replace orders impacted by USPS. We encourage you to contact your local post office with concerns about delays, mishandled packages, or lost packages.

  • Refunds, Cancellations or Substitutions

    • All sales are final.  Once an order is placed, we cannot cancel it.

    • In the unlikely event that we cannot fulfill a tuber variety ordered (as a result of storage issues that affect the quality of the tuber), we will refund the cost of that specific tuber variety only.  We are not able to subsitute for other varieties due to inventory.

  • Plant Health

    • The reality is that plants are a lot like people.  They may carry viruses or disease even when they appear healty.  We strive to maintain healthy dahlia plants but cannot guarantee all are free from virus.  Last season we did not have to cull any plants due to virus.  We believe this is a result of sanitizing tools between plants and taking pest management seriously.

  • Disclaimer

    • Post-shipment storage issues, damage from viruses, pests, weather, rot, field conditions, negligence or plant performance are the responsibility of the customer.

    • Dahlia tubers come in different shapes and sizes, also just like people!  Some may take longer than others to begin growing.  Please have patience.  A slow start or small size isn’t what is important for your dahlia tuber to thrive.  What is important is that your tuber has atleast one viable eye to grow a new plant and is true to the variety that you ordered.

    • Please also note that the product listing in our store is for one single dahlia tuber, not the entire clump harvested last fall.

  • Ettiqute

    • We will treat you with respect and request that you treat us with respect too! We reserve the right to cancel future orders if there have been past issues.   Please understand that we are a small business trying to do the best with the limited supply that we have.

By completing your purchase at checkout, you have acknowledged that you have read, understand, and agree to Urban Farmgirl Garden’s policies.
